disk interface:    a communications channel over which all the data and control information flows between the computer system components and the hard disks. The current interconnect technology between the server/workstation and disk. The primary technologies include Parallel ATA (ATA), parallel Small Computer System Interface (SCSI), Fibre Channel (FC), Serial ATA 1.0 (SATA), Serial ATA 2.0 (SATA II) and Serial Attached SCSI (SAS).
